We are meeting up with Vivian Kish (she used to live in Orlando) for dinner tonight in Brunswick, will go over early to explore. It’s a little chilly, overcast day today and we’ve actually put on the little heater-fireplace in the RV. This is so fun, Beverly. I feel so blessed to be doing this trip with my sweet husband and fur babies.

We love Brunswick ~ it’s very close to St. Simon’s Island which makes for a beautiful drive. We stayed in Brunswick a couple of weeks ago on our way back from Asheville. Enjoy.

yes, and along the way in life, we can always go back to coaching when we feel like a partner is advantageous to our goals. I’m using a coach right now to help me with the credentialling process at the international coach federation. I don’t have all the answers in life and cannot think of all the good ideas. I often just need someone to bounce ideas on.

Any coach worth their while will give you a complimentary session. Whether that’s spiritual, business, relationship or whatever, a coach will help you to find the solutions inside yourself just itching to get out!

I think it is a great opportunity to speak with a spiritual life coach before starting a new career. Their is so much more to be accomplished in our lives, its just a matter of finding that right mind set. But it takes working with the right people to see results. I do believe most people understand their feelings or understand how to harness the power of their emotions to accomplish more in their lives.

I know that some exams are revenue-making, but I have to believe that this is an effort to weed out those coaches who are not trained. The industry is not regulated, which means that any Joe Schmoe can hang out a Life Coach shingle. I have studied to the Master Coach level and am an Instructor. I’m going to pass it – it means very much to me to be a Professional Credentialed Coach

Dear Gerri,
Most of these credentialing tests such as the Interior Design Certification test; the Private Investigator’s exam in most states ( except Florida ); and many, many other tests are planned for the person to fail. It is a revenue making scheme.
Is the next test free? Or do you pay for it again?
I am curious…

Wow, I also regret not having seen Michael Jackson in concert. I went to Graceland a few years ago. I could sense Elvis’ presence there but it just wasn’t the same as seeing him for myself. Last week I went to see the movie, “The Help”, all by myself. Dave worked. It was the first time I’d gone to the theatre by myself. Hey it was actually fun!

Jane,
I came from a family of 6 kids and there were times that were not pleasant on my bus-ride to school. Kids can be so cruel and thank God, people are starting to pay attention to school bullies.

Whatever I can do to support you in your weight loss journey, I hope you’ll count on me! When I hit 248, my solution was to quit weighing myself – I went up 2 more dress sizes. In 1993 I made the shift to healthy eating, and no more using food as comfort. It gets easier!

Hi Gerri,
I have vivid memories of watching Bozo the clown on TV when I was a child. I’m afraid it also brings up the unpleasant memories of being teased and hurt by other children, though. When I was in elementary school – and watched Bozo at lunchtime – children were laughed at if they picked a penny up off the ground because it meant they were poor (I was). Running too slow to play games or audibly passing gas were other occasions for ridicule. There certainly seemed to be another bus where everyone on it was perfect and I was not wanted.

I think these feelings of inadequacy have become so deep-seated I hardly realize that they aren’t normal. My loving husband has gone a long way towards helping with healing but I still struggle.

Your last entry was about comfort food and yes, food is my comfort often and I am past the 248lb mark on the scale. I need to make God my comfort instead, to pray for healing and to try to find other comforting things to do as you suggested. I’m afraid hugs and phone calls aren’t as pleasant to me as they might be to others but I do have a dog to pat

I’m a Mac N Cheese girls myself, and I do indulge sometimes still – but not for comfort. Just when I have a sincere craving. For comfort I groom the pooch. Brushing and trimming and clipping my little miniature dog calms me and comforts me knowing that I can take care of at least someone.

I work in the IT field and “not knowing” is unheard of. With egos banging around everywhere, most people will make something up before they’ll admit they don’t know the answer to a question. Then I learned a technique from a co-worker where he’d say something like this: “I don’t know but I’ll look into it and see if I can figure it out or find someone who already knows the answer.” And he usually could research it and figure it out. This guy was really good at his job and he didn’t know everything and wasn’t afraid to say so. Sometimes he would tell me, “I’ve never done that before. Why would I know the answer to that question?” I still think of him to this day and enjoy the fact that I can be smart and good at my job and still there will be times when “I don’t know”.
