In 1979, with nothing more than $100 and a borrowed Commodore 64 computer, Gerri Helms and a partner started their first business, managing homeowner and condo associations in Central Florida. This launched a twenty-five year corporate career.
Maya Angelou writes: “Stepping onto a brand-new path is difficult, but not more difficult than remaining in a situation, which is not nurturing to the whole woman.” While her work fulfilled financial goals, Gerri longed to find a way to be of maximum service to God and the people around her. In 2005, Gerri honored that longing and stepped onto the brand-new path of life coaching.
Today, Gerri not only loves her work, but partners with others who also seek a more satisfying direction in their personal and professional lives. When clients shift their thinking to a more spiritual plane, great things happen!
Gerri is not a stranger to new paths. In 1993, she abandoned years of yo-yo dieting for a more spiritual approach to weight loss. At the time she weighed in excess of two-hundred fifty pounds. She lost over one hundred pounds and has maintained a healthy body weight ever since. Her success story is captured in “Trust God and Buy Broccoli, A Spiritual Approach to Weight Loss.” Not only has this book helped many people to also experience permanent weight loss, but it also fulfilled Gerri’s lifelong dream of becoming a published author.
Gerri lives in Titusville Florida, with her husband Dave and their two dogs, Snickerdoodle and Pooh Bear. They have three grown kids and two grandchildren. They often take off in their motor home, where Gerri ‘coaches from the coach’!
